Will we work well together?
We will work well together if:
You love minimal but meaningful design.
You can communicate your needs within a reasonable timeframe in writing.
You understand that good design services require a decent financial investment.
You are committed to maintaining a professional brand once I have completed my work for you.
You are willing to commit to providing great content.
You love to have fun, are willing to take advice and are easygoing.
We will not work well together if:
You are not willing to communicate in writing.
You want something quick and cheap.
You cannot respond in a timely manner.
You want a design that does not fit within my aesthetic.
What are your expectations of your clients?
I am a professional and expect for the elements and content that you add to your website and brand after I have designed it to be of professional quality.
I do not work on cheap and quick designs, I take my time to carefully get familiar with your content and brand to create something professional that portrays the image that you want to present. As far as branding goes, you get what you pay for. You are paying for professional design services from me.
My designs have a particular aesthetic, as can be seen in my creative portfolio. If you want something completely different from what I present in my portfolio, you may be happier with another designer, although I am open to working together with another designer to create the image that you are looking for.
You need to have an idea of what you want to convey with your brand and openly communicate your needs in writing. Phone calls are not an effective way to communicate what you need. Putting it in writing means that we both have a clear understanding of your needs and helps in case any disagreements arise.
You will need to either create your own website content or hire a copy writer separately.
Do you provide copy writing services?
I do not provide copy writing services. There are many good copy writers who would be glad to create content that enhances your brand, you will need to hire a copy writer separately.
Where can I find you on social media and view your portfolio?
What are your payment options?
When you hire me to create your design content, I charge a 50% non-refundable fee before I can begin to work on your design. You will pay the remainder of the balance once I have completed your designs and given you the access details. You will get a chance to approve the final designs before payment is rendered.
I am willing to accept cash and checks from my local clients. For remote clients I can be paid via Wave or PayPal for your convenience. Using Wave or PayPal or other agreed upon online service, there will be a fee of 4% added to your invoice.
Please view my packages for pricing information.
What software do you use?
I use the Adobe Creative Suite for my design work. When creating websites, I prefer to use Wix, but will also work with Squarespace or WordPress if you prefer.
Do you collaborate with other creatives?
Yes, I would love to collaborate with other creatives in order to produce content that you love. However, you will have to pay both of us separately for our services. In collaboration, I will still work within my minimalist and modern style.
What do I need to provide to you?
You need to provide your website content as well as a summary of your brand and the type of image you are wanting to portray with your Business. I will also need any high-quality photos that you want added to your website. I will not create a brand for you without high-quality images. I am willing to provide some high-quality stock photography, but your own images are always better and help create personalization to your business. I cannot begin work on your designs without this Information. For my local clients, I can provide photography services at an agreed upon price.
How long will it take to design my logo or website?
It depends on the extent of the project. Reasonable timeframes will be negotiated in writing at the beginning. Logos and websites are usually completed within a month. Things such as not approving designs or communicating needs in a timely manner can hold up the project. If you have a lot of content this could also cause the project to take longer and this will be communicated up front.
If I am unable to complete your designs within the agreed upon timeframe because of issues such as taking too long to approve designs, not clearly communicating your needs, or because you added other elements to the project, you will incur a bi-weekly continuation fee.
Will I be able to update my own website content?
You can choose to either update your own content or hire me to maintain your website on a bi-weekly basis. If you choose to have me maintain your website, I will take care of updating the content such as writing and images. That way you can focus on your business and I can maintain the consistency of your brand.
If you choose to maintain your own website, you will be responsible for updating you own content and images, and for keeping up with your brand yourself. If you alter my original designs and then choose to work with me again in the future to fix the design, this will incur extra fees.
